]]> Finland received the highest score of 80.75 in the Europe Sustainable Development Report 2021, meaning the country is making the best progress towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in the EU.

The top three were compiled of only Nordic countries; Sweden was ranked second (80.57) and Denmark as the third (79.32).

Finland achieved or is on track to achieve 7 out of the 17 goals: no poverty; quality education; affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation, and infrastructure; reduced inequalities; and sustainable cities and communities.

However, the progress towards some goals such as zero hunger, climate action, and responsible consumption and production has significantly decelerated, and further measures are required.
