DESCRIPTION:Dear Member,\nWe would like to inform you that the date of the Extra General Meeting has been confirmed. The General Meeting will be held in person at Finse Huis on Friday, February 9th 2024, at 17.30 CET (Netherlands). Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.\nYour participation is crucial to ensure that every member’s voice is heard on this matter. If attending in person is impractical, we kindly suggest granting a Power of Attorney to delegate representation to the board. This legal document will authorise a chosen individual, such as our Treasurer, Camilla Mattson, to act on your behalf. Please specify the powers granted, any limitations, and ensure the document is accurately drafted. Should you require assistance or guidance in this process, we are more than willing to provide support. \nKindly use the provided link to register and confirm your attendance in person. This will help us ensure proper arrangements for your participation.\n \nFurther details:\nFollowing up on the process initiated during the AGM of 2023, the FDCC is in the process of professionalising its operations. An important part of this process is creating full transparency and accountability in terms of how the FDCC Board operates and how member funds are used to benefit members.\nOne important action point is that as the Dutch legal requirements for associations have changed, the FDCC has to change its statutes to comply with Dutch law and become formally registered as a “formele vereniging” (formal association).\nAs such, we need a member quorum to ensure all members have a say in this necessary change.\nYou are therefore invited to vote to formally accept the new statutes during the Extra General Meeting on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at 17.30 CET (Netherlands). \nThe Meeting will be held in person at Finse Huis (Finnish Seamen’s Church in Rotterdam) at the following address: ’s-Gravendijkwal 64, 3014 EG Rotterdam.\nThe meeting will start with a 30-minute Question and Answer session towards the present board members, after which, at 18.00 CET, we will conduct the vote.
